Art In Action Funding And Grants For Arts Education Programs

AEP hosted the 2017 AEP State Policy Symposium on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. Continuing the momentum for implementation of the 2020 Action Agenda for Advancing the Arts in Education, this annual event provided an opportunity for national and state-level leaders to roll-up their sleeves and focus on the implications of pressing federal and state education issues for the arts in education. Since its enactment by Congress in 2003, the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area Partnership has awarded 154 grants totaling over $2.1 million and leveraging another $4.5 million in matching contributions from local governments and the private sector.

The event was in part, about sharing new ideas and innovative practice that bridges substance misuse and recovery, with the arts – moving away from cliched representations of addiction, and critically about exploring ways in which art and artists might have a part in the research agenda.

For students specialising in Primary education, the focus of Curriculum studies is on how primary school aged children learn and how you can effectively and creatively teach them in the key learning areas including English and literacies, mathematics, creative arts, technology, science, health and physical education, social education and studies of the environment and sustainability.

AEP serves as the nation’s hub for individuals and organizations committed to making high-quality arts education accessible to all U.S. students, improving arts education practice, and researching how art influences and strengthens American education.arts to educationarts to education
