DSA Leadership estimates it costs $6,250 to educate a DSA student in the arts and academics, but our 2017-18 allocation from DPS is $4,978 per student. Created by the state legislature in 1985 the center proudly serves the state by teaching in and through the arts. This event is simply wonderful and has grown over the years to include nearly twenty school Districts. Since 2013, Newark School of the Arts has been recognized with a Citation of Excellence from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and has been recognized as a Major Presenting and Service organization for over 10 years. Some people out there seem to think that a lopsided curriculum in high school is a great thing. Faculty and students work together to make a difference in our school and our community.
