This is a unique and innovative course that explores creative practice, meaning-making and learning in and out of school. Open to entrants 18 and up, the Hudgens Prize visual arts competition is intended to elevate the arts in our state and to offer a transformational opportunity to one Georgia artist. Practicing and learning complex rhythmical patterns stimulates and energizes the whole mind-body system.
High arts children scored higher on several subscales measuring academic self-concept. The reason given most often for not having a journal in class is that it was left in a car. At the core of this activity will be learning about the arts and culture, participating in the arts and developing creative skills across the curriculum.
Learning and design are grounded in a belief that institutions of higher education have a responsibility to think intentionally about learning and the holistic development of students. Our school arts programs are designed to prepare students for success with skills needed to succeed in life, especially creativity, curiosity, and communication.

The Arts and Passion-Driven Learning Institute examines how educators can use the arts to engage students across all subjects — not only in the arts.
It is now known from the research of such neuroscientists as Marian Diamond at Berkeley, that the human brain can change structurally and functionally as a result of learning and experience-for better or for worse. We are carefully studying the effects of changes in the classroom, and what active learning does is teach to more students with more varied learning modes and experiences.
