The Oklahoma State Department of Education is pleased to join with the Oklahoma Alliance for Arts Education and the Masonic Fraternity of Oklahoma for the 27th Annual State Superintendent Awards for Arts Excellence. One organization in Oriental Mindoro has incorporated the words Culture and Arts in its name: the Bongabon Municipal Tourism, Culture and Arts Council. When I think of the British bringing ‘world class’ English education to India, and creating a ‘class’ of people who in turn helped the British govern the millions of ‘natives’, it always reminds me of the then Indian National Congress.
As much as british emphasized on ruining the Indian educational system, we Indians also welcomed them in a warm manner. Our AIPP and Arts in Education program staff are collaborating to help make these connections. Learn to support a collaborative and cooperative learning environment that encourages upper elementary students to explore their interests and goals.
EDUC710 considers futures education and how the way we learn in and for a future world might be very different from today. The Honours program may be undertaken in either Education or your teaching discipline. At the school level, however, staff members are becoming more responsible for a vast array of curriculum decision.
Quality arts education is a critical investment in learning across the lifespan and reflection of a healthy, engaged community. Comprehensive, innovative arts initiatives are taking root in a growing number of school districts. The Arts Education Advisory Council is chaired by a member of the Council who works with Nassau BOCES to design and conduct the Council and subcommittee meetings.
During the past few years, the Council has met at the Tilles Center, C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, at Old Westbury Gardens, and in New York City, as well as in local school districts. Our Arts and Education students develop skills in classroom competence and spend up to 80 days in supervised teaching in at least three different educational school contexts.
