Tip #1: Get yourself to do some freewriting.
When you are still in the middle of the novel that you are writing, then chances are, it can be very challenging to get off of what you have already started outlining and doing. Yet, if you cannot get the words out of your thoughts together as you are left staring blankly at your computer screen, then take a deep breathe and leave your novel behind first and think of doing some freewriting.
Begin with small steps in freewriting, that is for each day, make sure to set aside fifteen minutes of your time to just write about anything that goes in your mind. The major pro of getting into freewriting is that you can write just about anything that goes inside of your head and put it into paper without thinking if your content makes perfect sense or if the structure of your written work is just right.
Freewriting is a good idea because it allows your brain to freely function. Just think of freewriting as a form of warm-up exercise for your writing.
Tip #2: Get yourself to move around.
Keep a realistic thought and accept the fact that writing is a sedentary job. What happens often with writers is that they get some discomfort and could get too cramped up that will then cause their brains to no longer function as usual.
There are a lot of ways that you can get yourself moving to loosen up. Incorporate some walking or jogging, stretching, dancing, breathing exercises, Tai Chi, and Yoga once in a while. If you get your mind to relax, then your mind becomes more healthy and open.
Tip #3: Stop some writing first.
Stopping some writing does not mean permanently, of course.
Most of the time, writer’s block happens because writers are overwhelmed with too much writing and have nothing else to think about.
If your writer’s block is just too much to handle, then it is best that you think of other more creative ways to have a comeback by quitting some writing first.
Close the lid of your laptop and try doing some painting, collaging, and drawing here and there. Writing is indeed an art; however, ensuring not to get burned out with it is made possible by expressing yourself with other forms of art.
