ART/works keeps you in the loop with regular updates on our work, great feature articles on topical issues in the arts and cultural sector, while highlighting what’s on, interesting facts and funding opportunities. Turnaround Artists are acclaimed, creative professionals who adopt Turnaround Arts schools over the length of the program, working directly with students and teachers, engaging parents and the school community, and highlighting the positive impact of the arts on their school’s transformation.
Now with a clear mandate, and a focus on our culturally rich metropolitan area, there are real opportunities for him to celebrate what is happening at grass-roots level alongside the offer of our bigger cultural players, whilst investing in culture and the arts as social determinants of health and wellbeing, for long-term social change.
First things first – a big congratulations to Alder Hey’s Children’s Hospital Arts for Health service, which has been successful in securing £50,000 from the People’s Project Big Lottery Fund to deliver a comprehensive programme of music with children and families on the wards.
It will improve or refresh the skills of arts councils and organizations in Program Development, Project Management, & Proposal Making; establish NCCA desks in LGUs, schools, & cultural institutions; reinforce the LGU-NCCA partnership in arts & cultural promotion and organize an adhoc of Regional Arts & Culture Network in the region.
Thanks to the Arts & Health Research Group at the Manchester School of Art and for Alcohol Research UK for their generous funding. Throughout 2017, we are bringing a diverse programme of arts and cultural events to the UAE. As a Co-Founder of Arts @ Large , I have attended numerous Americans for the Arts conferences where my national network has grown.
